I'm going to post the stuff as I make it for my virtual home. Comments, critiques, and suggestions are appreciated I'm starting with the simple stuff on my list and I'll work into the more difficult stuff as I gain experience. You already saw my woodpile, but I'll put the rest of the stuff here. Here's my list (I'll likely edit it as I go along) Runway End Markers Logs and stuff to support firewood cutting/splitting area Firepit with Log Chairs Fuel storage (55 gal drum on stand) Propane tank Temp building with antenna for radio and batteries for.. Wind turbine(s) Lodge sign Outhouse 4x4 Truck / Trailer Dock and small cabin down by the lake Fence (?) Barn (?) Kennel (?) Stable(?) Main House (most difficult) Hanger(s) ;D ;D ;D Trees Road to lake will require bridge across stream First up, since my runways (yeah, I added a second one - too windy ) are just worn spots on the ground, I decided to use a couple of sheets of plywood to make some runway end markers...

40 x 30 X 10 hanger frame... I'm hoping to set up the starting point inside the hanger. That's why I bothered to build the timber structure. I'm hoping I'll be ablt to figure out the LOD stuff so that FS will draw the inside only when you're sufficiently close. Paul has been helping me figure out Sbuilder and hopefully I'll have that non-flat runway I have been hoping to create. -Greg

Damm, that looks great Greg!! The objects you're working on are just what's needed. Very rustic looking items...

Thanks Paul!!
As you can see, I have several things on my list. I'm hoping that the quality and continuity of these objects will be good enough to make into a Rwy12 library to be uploaded for all to use. I've read the tutorial for creating a Rwy12 library from gmax objects and I'm hoping I can contribute.

Made these last night in about five hours. I used some modified textures from Tom Ficas website for the wall tent and the oil drum. I have attempted to contact him with no reply as yet. Blue Oil Drim (I have a red one too) Three-Log Pile Three-Log Pile Thirteen-Log Pile Wall tent Frank- If you think I should edit my post until I get Tom's blessing just let me know. I tried to place his API macros, but I could not do it with XML, so I just made GMAX objects and used his textures. -Greg

I think we are fine as long as we don't post anything to the website without the appropriate permissions.

I got the macros from Tom's website where he posts them for use by other scenery designers. The files contained no readme and his website offers no conditions on their use.
My main concern is that I have edited his textures and applied them to my gmax objects. I know making good textures is easily fifty percent of the effort in making scenery, so I felt a little funny doing it.
If I could figure out how to place API macros with XML I would simply take that route. Anyone have any ideas on how to do that?
Also, in some his published scenery (Chechok Lake for example), he states that some of his textures were done by someone else and others are of unknown origin.
In any case, I will continue to try to reach him and get his blessing.

Check with Todd Lucas. He has been working with XML based scenery.
