This was a real busy flight this one.
The wind has been horrific and today was no better.
I had to quickly hop over to 12AW and pick up another puppy that Hans had dropped and come back to McGrath before heading of to Iditarod.
This was a rough flight, I really thought the Helli was going to shake herself to bits.
More than once I thought thats it were going to fall apart midair!
Anyway here we are blasting off from McGrath. ;D
I got a radio call from my ground support guy, about do I want some fly spray then the he just started laughing and ended the transmission.
I thought man my guys need some sleep! ..... Man I need some sleep!
The flight was OK except that dam wind .... Did Huey have baked beans last night?
Here we are parked at Takonta I was only on the ground long enough to load and secure the puppy.
Here we are heading back to McGrath at best speed of 140KTS
I got bored on the way back and fired up my landing light to see what I could see in the trees.
3 possums
2 greenie's
1 moose!!!!!!
1 aircraft ... OK who stuffed up!
I got back to McGrath in the round trip was less than 20 minutes.
My guys must be on drugs!
One of the crew whilst unloading the dog yelled "ya found him yet"!
Then he proceeded to laugh like an idiot whist walking away from the chopper.
I just shook my head and got ready to leave for Iditarod.
With out wasting time I took off. I really wanted to beat Hans in and be ready for the next leg.
All was going fine until ..... I noticed on my shoulder a large hairy spider!
A very large very hairy spider!
It looked very happy and quite comfortable on my shoulder.
Is this Fuzzy's other half I wondered.
In no time 14AW came into view so we ( spider and I ) set for landing.
I could have sworn I saw that spider cross it self and pray on finals! .... Thats it its dead when we land!
I don't mind passengers .... but smart ass passengers ... thats something else!
Landed
I turned to look at said spider and he had gone.
I wonder if he kissed the ground we he got out of the helicopter.
Geeze pleased I am not sensitive, even spiders are scared to fly with me!
You guys would fly with me eh?
Cheers
