Hans dropped a dog in Anvik so I decided to pick up the dog and head for Kaltag to catch up with Hans.
It was another windy day the air at ground level was kinda still but when airborne above 500 then we bounced around like a kite.
I emptied 16 cans of fly spray into the Helli about 2 hours before departure, I am sick of spiders and other creepy crawlies!
Oh speaking of creepy crawlies a FAA inspector came to see me.
I did not think that Iditarod allowed feral pigs in the camp sites! ;D ;D
He went through my log book like bull in china shop.
I just watched in glee as this fella did everything he could to find a fault ....... looks like its gonna be a long day for this fella!
Out of Ididarod a few longs hops today.
With my chopper smelling like fly spray and the wind kicking a bit I am not sure if I should have had the bacon and eggs and coffee and toast and orange juice for breakfast, maybe just toast would have been wise.
Ohhhh my guts hurt.
The day was nice and the scenery was even better.
I kept thinking about that poor bloke from the FAA ..... Was I getting soft in my old age I did feel sorry for him.
Told ya it was a nice day!
Ya know maybe I should not have let his tires down on his Cessna 175, and maybe the sugar in his tank was a bit much.
Yea maybe I am getting soft ...... Did I really need to put fuzzys mate in his sleeping bag?
Well yes actually ..... ;D
My thoughts where interrupted by the approach of Anvik
I made a fast stop to pick up the dog I'll keep him with me till the next drop of spot, dog secured, gas released ... That feels better!
Take off toward Kaltag.
The flight over to Kaltag was taken up by the dog and I having howling contests.
He really liked to sing along with Green day!
But I howled the Aussie national anthem better than him, then he stated to chew his belt in protest so I shut up and let him listen / howl to his favorite music.
The sky for a short time turned blue even the puppy gave up singing to watch.
Kal came into view and we made a nice landing.
Time for dog biscuits and coffee .... No the the dog biscuits are for the dog!
Silly! ;D
Cheers
