I've downloaded it and will take a look when I get some time later this week.
If you're really antsy for an "eastern" helo, you could check out the somewhat irreverent Mi-24 (Mi-24VMoose.zip) from the Aurora Yahoo Groups page.
It may not be exactly your cup of tea, but it was fun doing it.

This one could be very tricky to paint in AAS colors. The designer has chosen to color the horizontal stabs himself (green), and did not create a texture for them. I'll keep at it, but it doesn't show much promise.

I've struck out in trying to color the horizontal stab, so I've contacted the designer to see if he can be of any help, and to make sure he has no problem with me repainting the aircraft. Stay tuned! ;D

Well, so far I'm not having much luck. My email came back as undeliverable, and his website has no means of leaving him a message.
There's also a message on his site that he (who lives in the Ukraine) is in Africa, working as a hydroelectric engineer.
So, if you don't mind a green colored tail, I can try to find an orange color to match it ;D ;D ;D

I wish I could get rid of the green tail, but... oh well! Here are some preliminary shots of the repaint in progress. I've still got a ways to go. The texture mapping on this thing leaves much to be desired. In one case, in order to paint the entire starboard side intake, a certain section of the belly had to be painted, otherwise, the d**n thing looked like it was winking at me ;D ;D Another weird one was the tailboom spine... an area of the port side had to be painted in order to cover the spine with the same color. Just a few more touch ups yet...

If its Russian I'l, fly it! .. I love RU Aircraft. ;D ;D ;D They are as tough as guts ( another aussie saying) I have just been talkng to CASA ( Civil Aviation Safety Authority) About buying an AN2 and flying it here in Australia. But NOOO they wont give it type certification. Ya can only fly em as an expermantal ( excuse spelling) and that cat has so many restrictions you might as well walk! Cheers Zarik

That's the same deal here in the states. The rationale is that they are SEL planes under ~12000 lbs, which any private pilot could fly. Once upon a time, not too long ago, a Colt could be had for about $40,000... tempting indeed ;D ;D ;D

Yea Greg its like Tiger Moths.
Ya can get a well restored Moth for about $100,00 Australian!
Thats about 80k US, not bad for a bit of aviation history.
All ya need is the $$$ now thats a diffrent matter eh.
Cheers Zarik
