I think something can be added to the "aircraft.cfg" that will do the trick. I'll try to work on it this afternoon.

I've got the light added to the nose of the 206L, but am not yet having any luck with the beam effect which lights up the ground in front of the aircraft. Stay tuned... ;D

Well, as the saying goes, I've got some good news and some bad news...
The good news is that I was able to figure out the FS9 SDK stuff and I hung a landing light under the nose of the 206L.
The bad news is that I cannot add the illuminating effect that would show a beam emitting from the landing light, projecting onto the ground. That (according to my source) has to be done by the aircraft's designer. So if you'd like to do nothing more than blind oncoming drivers, I can give you the changes to the "aircraft.cfg" file that will add the light as-is.
The only-such light emitting from the 206L is a puddle of light directly from the bottom center of the aircraft onto the ground. This "puddle" expands as you ascend, but unfortunately doesn't illuminate anything out in front of you... it only lights up whatever is directly beneath you.
If anybody sees the need for extra landing lights, beacons, etc. on aircraft, I can sure do that for you ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Tom for trying, cheers mate. Hey Wedgee 20 bucks to some people may mean the difference between feeding the kids and having them go hungry. So why don't you just stow the chat about payware! You and the Prof are really pissing me off with ya payware this and payware that. And while ya at this was a post about helicopter landing lights not a flaming advert for carenado. Zarik ( at least I use my real name)

Well, I have said it before and I will say it again, payware is a sensitive topic for some folks. Not everyone has the extra income to spend on a lot of payware or any payware at all for that matter. I am not suggesting that there is no place for payware discussion here but maybe it should be limited. Those that have a lot of payware need to be sensitive to those of us with limited resources.
I just had an idea.....what if I create a payware discussion board so that those that are interested in payware can discuss it there and those that are not interested don't have to read about?

Zarik ( at least I use my real name) Terribly sorry to piss you off Zarik but how you interpret things really isn't my fault. I don't recall twisting anybody's arm off to buy payware nor have I rubbed their noses in it if they can't. <I had more to say after this but in retrospect I felt it was not very flattering to certain individuals nor helpful to the forum or it's members. I therefore removed it. In it's place I offer the following: "Happy Holidays"> Prof K.

In it's place I offer the following: "Happy Holidays"> Prof K. I agree - let's focus on the time of the season, and let's all remember that the reason we're here is for all of us to enjoy a mutual hobby.
